A premium development program for APHA & AQHA performance horses.
training with Crysta.
Make the most out of your horse.
This is a high-end, full-immersion training and management service, built for horses and riders preparing to compete in APHA and AQHA English or Western classes. Our training system is designed specifically for show-pen progression, higher scoring maneuvers, and purpose-driven performance development, giving each horse a clearly built competitive program from groundwork to ridden work.
Horses entering the show program must commit to a minimum 3-month full-time stay. This ensures training can be developed thoroughly, consistently, and in progressive layers — creating competition horses built to last, not try out a trend for a few weeks.
Horses not registered with APHA or AQHA may contact Crysta Brown to be considered on a case-by-case basis, but acceptance is limited and selective. At this time, we do not take horses from the general public seeking non-performance or recreational training programs.
Program Standards & Management
Every horse accepted into training receives:
Discipline-specific show-pen development
Structured foundation work rooted in biomechanics + relaxation
Maneuvers built to score higher in judged classes
Professional full-care management under Crysta’s direct supervision
Training-inclusive board in Northern Ireland
Horses stay on-site at our training facility in Northern Ireland in a feeding and management program that includes:
24/7 quality forage
Grain + supplements provided by CB Horsemanship
Grooming, turn out, and standing for vet and farrier
Board/Livery fee included in the monthly training fee
Riders also receive one progression lesson each week on their horse (or a CB lesson horse, if appropriate) to ensure horse and rider advance as a team.
Payment & Arrival Policy
Stay Requirement
Due to past abuse of our trust:
Initial Month’s training payment is due in full at the time of arrival on property
Horses may not be unloaded or left on site until payment is received
Horses cannot remain on site without confirmed payment
Payment must be completed before horse transfers into Crysta’s care
This ensures clarity, protection of trainer’s time, and continuity of service for all horses in the performance program.
You get what you pay for. If you are not ready to invest in your horse’s training and longevity, this program may not be for you.
To develop our horses in the way that’s best for them, we must go at their pace, and work on their timeline, not ours. We believe it’s better to give our horse’s the time to develop a strong foundation than to go back and “fix” later.
Our program is designed for maximum development, not minimum cost. If you’re looking for a lower-standard approach, you may find better alignment elsewhere.
